Do You Know About These Green Tea Health Benefits?

December 31, 2009

Green tea benefits the heart, the circulatory system, the brain, the metabolism, the digestive system and, because of its antioxidant content, all of the cells of the body. Are green tea health benefits overstated? In some cases, the answer is “yes”.

Green tea benefits were first examined because of something called the “Japanese paradox”. It’s a little like the French paradox. Most health experts believe that people who consume large amounts of dietary fat and/or smoke cigarettes are more likely to develop heart disease and cancer. But the incidence of heart disease is low in the French, even though the traditional diet is high in fat. The incidence of heart disease, as well as stomach and throat cancer is low in the Japanese, even among smokers.

After several studies, researchers stated that one of the possible green tea health benefits was a reduced risk of stomach and throat cancer, primarily because the study participants drank a liter or more of green tea every day. After studying French populations, researchers found an antioxidant in red wine called resveratrol. They said that the antioxidant may reduce the risk of heart disease, among other things. If we combine green tea health benefits with those of resveratrol, we might be able to lengthen our life-spans. Researchers arrived at this conclusion after feeding resveratrol to fish that normally lived for only nine weeks. After dosing a group of the fish with resveratrol, they lived an average of 56% longer than the group that did not receive the supplement. Of course, whether it has the same effect on humans remains to be seen.

If you really want to lengthen your lifespan, you need more than antioxidants. They are a good place to start, because they fight free radical damage, but they do nothing to counter glycation, a complex process caused by sugar molecules binding to protein within the human body. This binding causes a cascade of reactions that lead to the formation of advance glycation end-products or AGEs. The term AGE is appropriate, because these molecules have been implicated in Alzheimer’s, type II diabetes, heart disease, deafness, blindness, cancer and other “age” related diseases. The green tea benefits cannot prevent glycation, but L-carnosine supplements can.

If we combine the green tea health benefits with those of resveratrol and carnosine, we may actually get somewhere in preventing chronic diseases and extending our lives. But, you won’t find supplements that contain all three of these things on your pharmacy’s shelves. You might not even be able to get the green tea benefits, as they are promised. We have to find a good manufacturer that knows what it takes to make an effective supplement.

The long-term green tea health benefits may never be seen, so it’s difficult to know if a supplement of that type is working. But, if you buy the best supplement, there are some changes that will be noticeable, almost immediately. Now that you know a little more about the green tea benefits, you might want to learn more about the best supplements on the market, today. Lose Weight Fast With the Red Tea Diet

December 30, 2009

The red tea diet is a low-calorie diet that may help you lose up to seven pounds within five days. This diet requires that you to drink four cups of red tea daily, at breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner, and eat only certain foods rich in carbohydrates and vegetables.

The foods required for this diet include fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, pasta, whole grain, and rice. The prohibited foods include sugar, fats, diary foods, bananas, grapes, and meat.

Breakfast should include a can of red tea with orange juice or orange slices, a slice of whole bread, or two musli bars.

For lunch, eat cold fish salad, rice with vegetables, or rice salad. You may also eat a fruit, and drink a mug of red tea. The snack should only include a cup of red tea.

Dinner consists of salad, fish with vegetables, pasta with vegetables, rice soup, or bean with vegetables. A fruit and a cup of red tea are good after dinner.

The vegetables should be eaten boiled or raw. The red tea also accelerates the liver`s metabolism and reduces fat absorption. The tea cleans the body, is anti-depressive, and stimulates digestive functions. How to: Green Tea Facial Scrub Tutorial (detox your skin)

December 30, 2009

(yes guys, I woke up and did this tutorial without doing my hair… Mega bed head alert)

Hi everyone,

Here is another homemade mask recipe as promised. I am loving this facial scrub so much!!!! You guys have to try it. Who needs to spend large amounts of cash when all you need is to go downstairs into your own kitchen?

My ‘Origins Modern Friction’ exfoliater works great but my skin is far too sensitive for the ingredients. It stung my face when I washed it out. Until one morning, I was sipping my greentea when I suddenly had a thought and wondered if we can use greentea as an ingredient for our skin. We can!!! Greentea not only tastes wonderful but has promising benefits for our body and skin.

This homemade mask is inexpensive and great for getting rid of dead skin cells (which can pile up giving you a dull complexion). By using the scrub when it is slightly warm, it opens our pores allowing the nutrients of the mask to cleanse deep within. I get questions by people asking me how they can reduce appearance of scars. The answer is by exfoliating and removing the scar tissues. You can even use this scrub on your body. The amount I reccomended is for 2-4 applications. You can adjust the recipe to make it more ‘thick’ or ‘thin’ so it suits yourself. I would reccomend you to exfoliate at least once a week.

If you have a jar, store it in your fridge (use still bottled water instead though). You can buy green tea (teabags or loose tea leaves) in your supermarket. You are sure to be able to get some. If would be awesome if you have greentea powder.

Hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did,

Much love,

Bubbi

ps. Notice the dark circles? Thats the 5am livechat sessions with you guys O_o but it was worth it. xx

High Quality Organic Green Tea

December 29, 2009

Chances are good that if you are reading this you are looking for good ways to add healthy things to your current lifestyle. You may or may not have heard of green tea and the term organic may leave you thinking about tofu and weird recipes. Rest assured high quality organic green tea is not weird. First, you should know exactly what constitutes an organic product.

Organic

There are many products today that carry the organic label. You must remember that the term itself has different meanings. Where a product is produced as well as the exact wording on the packaging can equal different levels of organic. High quality organic green tea is no exception. Suffice it to say that you should look into the organic rules of the country from which the product comes to get the best idea of what you are receiving.

In the United States the term organic means that the product was grown and processed with no commercial pesticides or herbicides. All products will be free of contamination from industrial or human waste. For livestock this will mean being raised naturally with no antibiotics as injection or as an additive in their food.

Finding organic foods has historically meant a trip to the local farmers market. However, the recent growth in the industry has given rise to imports and exports of organic products, including green tea.

Green tea has long been known in its homeland for its medicinal properties. It has not been until lately that the information has spread west and spurred many studies. The health benefits that are being discovered are undeniable.

Green tea has properties that fight heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes. In addition to these benefits, there are also strong indications that green tea is going to be a powerful player in the weight loss industry. Antioxidants and catechins are showing to be instrumental in blocking glucose absorption of fat cells and flushing LDL cholesterol from the human body.

With all these great benefits why muddy the waters by ingesting the harmful chemicals that come from traditional growing practices. To avoid these it will be better to search for high quality organic green tea. All organic green tea many times is processed in traditional Chinese manner and shipped to you fresh. Better yet is a company that ships you loose-leaf organic green tea. Loose leaf will be more potent and medicinal than the bagged type that you will find at the local grocers.
